Elmquist is a seasoned strategist and builder at the intersection of media, technology, and education. With more than two decades of experience leading public media transformation, scaling private media ventures, and designing high-impact platforms, Elmquist combines operational expertise with a deep understanding of storytelling, audience engagement, and systems innovation.

Elmquist also advises executive leadership at Libsyn, the world’s largest podcast publisher, and previously co-founded  leading private podcast and production company Fieldcast. His work bridges narrative strategy, digital innovation, and sustainable growth, helping institutions, public profiles, and new ventures connect with audiences, scale impact, and unlock value.

In 2025, Elmquist joined Gannett.Partners as Operator in Residence, where he advises and co-builds ventures at the convergence of the creator economy, media, and education. He brings expertise in venture strategy, early-stage growth, and cultural engagement to initiatives that leverage the firm’s network of founders, creators, investors, and Fortune 500 industry leaders.

A former professor at Columbia University (Business School and SIPA), Elmquist designed the first marketing and storytelling curriculum for public leaders – translating strategic communication into actionable growth and institutional impact.
